The set project:

For this project I decided to stick to a simple design yet something that could be personalized with every detail added to each heart. As I went through the molding process it wasn't too challenging the real challenge came from the carving. After I was able to carve each piece I had to figure out a subtle yet complex color for my glaze. While it is not a typical first choice color for hearts I am very happy with it and would not change it.

Final Mug

For my final mug I wanted the inspiration for it to be one of a rustic feel so I decided to go for a very unique manly look. While this piece was originally thrown on the wheel I edited it so that it looks as if it was completely handbuilt for a more rustic look. The glaze could not be done better even if I had another chance. I am more than happy with the woodsy color it got from the glaze.

The coil pot came out exactly how I wanted it to when I had envisioned making it. While my sketches were somewhat different it came out much more tribal looking for the feel I was trying to accomplish. The glaze raspberry typically has a low success rate but I increased my chances for success by applying multiple coats over several days.

These are my holiday gifts out to people in a rough draft form. They are yet to be glazed which is still being decided but these are the components for my piece set.

Displaying IMG_9322.JPG

The mug came out exactly to my liking and how I envisioned it. The glaze is exactly what I wanted on the pot however on my next projects I will look to improve in my area of craftsmanship by carving more precisely and better constructing the item in general with more accuracy.

This item I am extremely happy with the result of it. Although I am still looking to improve the craftsmanship. Initially it was not what I wanted and came out a purplish color but after re glazing it 3 times I finally got the brown look I desired.

I am very happy with the glaze tasty purple which gave me the fun purple spots look thanks to the reduction in the process which is uncommon.

Teacup

This item I am extremely happy with the result of it. Although I am still looking to improve the craftsmanship. I am very happy with the glaze Panama blue which gave me the red look thanks to the reduction in the process which is uncommon.
